Silver Foxes: Visit to Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery
Join a Sarett naturalist for a trip to Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery. Enjoy a tour and short walk during your visit, maybe even a little bird watching too. Bring a sack lunch for after the program. Meet at Sarett to join us in our van - space is limited. Participants may meet Sarett at the Fish Hatchery but please still register. Silver Fox programs are designed for people 55 & older. Stream Surveying
Stream surveys are a great way to learn the health of our waterways. The more weird insects you find the better the health! Come learn stream survey protocol and find some cool macroinvertebrates while you're at it! Be prepared to get wet and muddy. Old tennis shoes, muck boots or waders are recommended. Bob Ross and Rosé
Ages 21 & up. Sarett is teaming up with a local winery for an evening of art and libations as we follow along with a seasonal Bob Ross tutorial, looking out over the happy trees in our Great Room. Space is limited so please call (269) 927-4832 to register. Members/$38, Non-members/ $45. (Price includes one glass of wine and take-home canvas. Additional glasses may be purchased at time of program.)
Paddles & Pints
Meet at Sarett to travel down to the New Buffalo boat launch where we will paddle to the Galien River County Park. Afterwards we will stop at Ghost Isle Brewery where we will continue to enjoy the marsh while drinking a pint of beer. We will provide the kayak, paddle, PFD, and naturalist expertise. Fall Mushrooms of Berrien County
Join mushroom enthusiast Charlie Havens on our trails for a beginner mushroom hike. Learn safety tips, how to describe and document what you see to better identify it, recommend identification guides, and more. This program is best for people 18 and older. Sarett Legacy Society
Have you named Sarett Nature Center as a beneficiary in your estate plan? We want to say thank you in advance! The Sarett Legacy Society is being formed to recognize the generosity of those who have made a planned gift to help sustain Sarett into the future.
For our inaugural gathering, Executive Director Nate Fuller invites you to enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and drinks while he shares a sneak-peek presentation into Sarett’s plans for growth. A walk to enjoy the fall color and end-of-season wildflowers will follow.
Even if you can’t make this event, we would love to hear from you if you want to be acknowledged as a member of the Sarett Legacy Society and be invited to future events. Sarett's Spooky Halloween
A spooky adventure will be had by all ages as you take a stroll through the trails and visit some spooky crafts, game stations, and other fun activities. Visit the scary trail if you want a fright! Tickets should be purchased in advance to participate in this Halloween event. $6.00/ person age 2 and older.
Member ticket sales start October 1 at 10:00 AM. Non-member ticket sales begin October 8 at 10:00 AM. Tickets will be sold through the website.

Music & Butterflies
Join us for a special afternoon in the butterfly house. Harpist Meg Rodgers will be in the butterfly house playing a variety of music from pop to classical, from Gershwin to Disney, Meg has even been persuaded to take requests. Come sit awhile, watch the butterflies and relax to the peaceful harp music. Regular Butterfly House admission fees apply.

Bats & Brews
Sarett is pairing up with Western Michigan University professor, Maarten Vonhof and a local brewery to bring you an up close experience with wild bats! This is a very safe experience as Dr. Vonhof has been studying bats for decades. After a presentation about local bats he will take us to an area where he has set up special nets.
As the sun sets and night sets in, hopefully he will be able to catch some bats to demonstrate his research and give us an unforgettable experience! The length of the program depends on weather and bat behavior, likely 2 – 2 ½ hours. This program is very dependent on good weather! Rain date July 19. Please call 269-927-4832 to register. The Mysterious Mitchell’s Satyr Butterfly
Sarett is one of the few places in the world that has prime habitat for this federally endangered butterfly. Join our director, Nate Fuller, to learn its habitat needs and natural history.
